Bahama Woodstar Hummingbird

 

The Bahama Woodstar hummingbird  is a medium sized  hummingbird that will grow 3 to 5 inches long.

The top parts of the Bahama Woodstar hummingbird are green and underneath it is mixed olive-buff. It has a white collar that lines it’s reddish-pink throat.

The Bahama Woodstar is the most common hummingbird in the Bahama Islands. They like short scrubby low growing vegetation to live in.

The nest of the Bahama Woodstar hummingbird is a small cup shaped nest made out of plant down and bark  held together with cobwebs.

In the nest the female Bahama Woodstar hummingbird will lay 2 small elliptical white eggs which will take about 15 to 18 days to hatch.
