 Black Inca Hummingbird   

   

The Black Inca Hummingbird, Coeligena prunellei, has a long straight bill. It has plumage that is mostly black in color. It has a greenish blue throat patch and a distinctive white patch on each side of its chest. The shoulders of the Black Inca hummingbird are iridescent blue.

 

 

The female Black Inca hummingbird is similar to the male but more drably colored.

Range

The Black Inca hummingbird is only found in Columbia where it lives on the western slopes of the East Andes.
